Forbidden Cookies

Title says everything. I am no longer using cookies on this website. For both privacy and to do not have to comply with the annoying pop asking permission.

Also the RSS feed is available here.

Why

When I started to make websites sometime around 25 years ago… on geocities, before yahoo bought it, building a website was much as create content, publish and… maybe someone will send an email, or leave a scrap on the scrapbook that you added from geocities. Besides that I would have no clue of who and why and how the person is accessing the website.

And then when we got analytics, counters, etc, it was great because was on the spot. You got the info of who visit you and maybe you could tailor or work on the content site.

And then things became darker and darker, most of the data is collected by the analytics providers, they gave me suboptiomal results and kept the main bulk of information to resell. I can’t remove the cookies of everything I create today but at least my personal website will be cookie free. Of course I still can see the ip address and the user-agent from the logs but they are easy to spoof and besides to filter bad crawlers I don’t have any interested on them anymore.

RSS

I make the RSS explicit and with link. Also there is the Mastodon bridge that you can use to follow the website on the mastodon. I generated the handle on the fed bridgy website.
